After breaking his record for most triple-doubles in a season, Oscar Robertson will have the opportunity to watch Thunder guard Russell Westbrook play live.

The Big O is reportedly flying to Oklahoma City on Wednesday, and will be part of the home crowd inside Chesapeake Energy Arena to watch their team play their regular season finale against the Denver Nuggets. It has also been rumored that Commissioner Adam Silver will also be present to honor Westbrook for the feat he reached, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears.

“Even if Westbrook is shy of the NBA triple-double record entering Wednesday’s regular-season finale against the Nuggets, sources say Robertson will be there to celebrate however it all settles. There are also rumors that NBA commissioner Adam Silver may be at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City as well during the regular-season finale.”

Thunder general manager Sam Presti spoke about their tribute plans for their six-time All-Star point guard and also discussed why they planned to do it at the end of the regular season.

“If history is taking place, there is a plan as to how we try to recognize that. But only at the end point. Russell has led the charge in not taking the focus off the team and the winning. But there is also a time and place to recognize history, and we will do that.”

The 28-year-old UCLA product capped off the record-setting night on Sunday by finishing with 50 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, topped by a  game-winning three-pointer right at the buzzer. He is a favorite to win the MVP award this season and has definitely strengthened his case with that performance.

Wednesday night could be a statement game for him in order to leave a lasting impression to the panel who will decide the winner of the Maurice Podoloff Trophy and rightfully so, in front of the legend he beat for the season triple-double record.
