As the Detroit Pistons faced the Miami Heat at home, the team gave away Ben Wallace bobbleheads to 10,000 of their fans inside The Palace at Auburn Hills.

It was a great token reminding everyone about the fearless ‘fro' that injected fear into opponents, making them think twice before driving into the paint.

Wallace appeared in eight seasons for the Pistons and was one of their key players when they won a championship back in 2004. He went on to play his best years as a professional in the Motor City and became a four-time Defensive Player of the Year and All-Star.

Earlier this season, the Virginia Union product was inducted to the Michigan Sports Hall-of-Fame for his contributions to the team. Wallace was the epitome of hard work and proved all his doubters wrong as he went on to have a successful career despite going undrafted in 1996.

The Detroit faithful are hoping their team will be inspired to play better on the night as they are battling for one of the last playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. They may only have a 35-40 record but are only two games behind the Heat, who currently own the eighth seed.
