Back in the 2012 playoffs, Toronto Raptors big man Serge Ibaka was on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green were on the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs had a 2-0 series lead on the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals and looked well on their way to advancing to the NBA Finals.

That's when Ibaka's Thunder came back and won four games in a row to eliminate the Spurs and advance to the Finals, where they eventually lost to LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat in five games.

So, why are we telling you this story? Apparently Ibaka told his Raptors teammates about that 2012 series where the Thunder came back from a 0-2 deficit. The Raptors were down 0-2 to the Bucks in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals before they won Game 3 on Sunday.

According to Seerat Sohi of Yahoo Sports, Leonard jokingly said he didn't like the story from Ibaka because he and Green were on the wrong side of it.

“Me and Danny [Green] were playing on the Spurs, so we really didn’t like that,” Leonard joked after the game. The point, in a weird twisted way, is all three know it can be done. They have seen it. When the odds seem insurmountable, knowing they aren’t is half the battle. Maybe it’s easier to do the impossible twice. Maybe the first crack is what arms you with the resilience, the inner fortitude — the hope, really — to do it again.

Now teammates, Ibaka, Green and Leonard will look to win three more games in a row to lead the Raptors to their first ever Finals appearance.
