The Toronto Raptors staved off elimination on Wednesday night at the expense of the Boston Celtics in a thrilling double-overtime instant classic. There were multiple massive plays on both sides throughout the game, and a whopping six players in the game played over 50 minutes.

By the end of the game, both teams were gassed, but one notable player who ended up playing a huge role down the end of the contest “only” played 38 minutes – Norman Powell.

Powell played a huge part in the Raptors taking home the win, including hitting all 7 of his free throws in the two overtimes.

Kyle Lowry, who was perhaps the single biggest reason why the Raptors won the game, was vocal in his support of Powell’s clutch play in the two overtimes in this NSFW clip posted by Bleacher Report:

Powell was indeed huge in the double-overtime affair, and his and-one layup with 38.8 seconds left in the game gave the Raptors a four-point cushion that they never relinquished.

Lowry, for his part, had one of his best playoff games of all time as he played a staggering 53 minutes and put up 33 clutch points, knocking in 6 of his 10 three-pointers while playing the entirety of the second overtime with five fouls.

Powell scored 23 points on only 11 shooting possessions thanks to getting to the line 9 times, and he also drilled a game-tying triple with 1:23 left in the contest.

Both Lowry and Powell deserve adulation for their play in this game, and Lowry was quick to provide it in the form of his amusing response regarding Powell.
