After missing the first 21 games of the year, Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson made his season debut last Sunday when his team went up against the Orlando Magic.

Now there's more good news for him and the Pistons.

Jackson has recently been cleared to play in back-to-back games and started in their game on Wednesday versus the Charlotte Hornets. The team's head coach, Stan Van Gundy, talked about the development in Jackson's playing time and explained that he will play on Wednesday not because of the limited minutes he was given the night before.

“(The training staff) has loosened it up even a little. I think they were worried the first game out. He felt good.”

However, even with Jackson's increased court action, Van Gundy also kept the expectations on him realistic as he understands how difficult it is after missing significant time.

“The challenge is difficult. You’ve got everybody know at the point that they are really operating sort of at peak efficiency and you’re stepping into that, basically starting your preseason. The guys you’re up against are in midseason form, the guys you’re playing with are and you’re trying to develop chemistry and get your legs under you. It’s a difficult challenge.”

“It’ll take some time. He needs minutes in the game and conditioning, just getting back to playing basketball. A back-to-back certainly a bit tougher.”

It will be interesting to see how much Jackson's return will help the revitalized Pistons who have won six of their last eight games. His experience and solid playmaking will be relied upon heavily by the team as they try to make the playoffs this season.
