The Milwaukee Bucks are close to bringing back one of the most accurate three-point shooters in the NBA in Steve Novak, but they're also aiming to sign perhaps the greatest three-point shooter ever: Ray Allen.

Allen identified both the Boston Celtics and the Bucks as his preferred destinations. Ray spent the first six and a half years of his career in Milwaukee, and he won one of his two NBA titles in Boston.

Allen, from the Hartford Courant:

I would love going back to those places if it worked out, because both teams are good, too. It doesn’t necessarily have to be championship-or-bust for me to go back to the NBA.

So, who's the front runner for Allen's services? From a report on Woelfel's Press Box:

The Bucks appear to be more than a tad interested in Allen, the Hall of Fame in-waiting shooting guard who played his first 6½ seasons in the NBA with the Bucks.

In an interview with WSSP (105.7 FM), Bucks president Peter Feigin acknowledged the Bucks wouldn’t mind having Allen’s services.

Feigin said, “Ray Allen lights everybody up,’’ and that “He (Allen) has been talking to (Bucks GM) John Hammond.”

Feigin also added, “Ray Allen is someone who gives this entire organization a great shot in the arm.”

At this point, Allen might be a better fit for the Bucks than the Celtics. Boston's roster is too full as is with all of the draft picks they made this summer. Conversely, Milwaukee needs as many quality outside shooters as they can get to spread the floor. Other than Khris Middleton, they've struggled to do this recently.

If Ray is anywhere close to his old self, the Bucks would be fortunate to add him to their roster for the 2016-17 season.
