Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green was arrested on Sunday for an assault in East Lansing, Michigan, as reported by Brendan F. Quinn of Michigan Live.

Presently, there are no few details released about the incident.

The police are yet to specifically name Green, but they did confirm that they arrested a “current NBA basketball player”:

“The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name,” said Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the East Lansing police department Public Information Officer. “What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That's all we're confirming right now.”

According to Quinn, Green will have 10 days to go back to East Lansing so he can be present for his arraignment.

Just moments ago, the Warriors released an official statement regarding Green's arrest:

Warriors beat writer Diamond Leung released some more information on the arrest and Green's $200 bail, which could indicate that the offense isn't all that severe:

The Defensive Player of the Year runner-up averaged 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks during another stellar campaign in which his team broke the record for most wins in a season at 73. They eventually fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games in the Finals, with Green making headlines after a kick to LeBron James‘ groin led to his suspension for Game 5.

Green is currently set to represent the United States in the Rio Summer Olympics as a member of Team USA.
