Following a high-octane 137-125 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Houston Rockets‘ Twitter account would not have mercy on Russell Westbrook, who led all players in points (39), rebounds (11), and assists (13), recording his 36th triple-double of the season.

With Westbrook likely to finish the year as the first player to average a triple-double for a season, the Rockets made a case for James Harden the only way they could — by saying that wins are all that matter.

All is fair in love and MVP races, or so they say.

Harden and Westbrook are the ones expected to spearhead the race to the Most Valuable Player Award, and while most voters will take wins in consideration, it's likely others will also factor the historical significance into the equation before submitting their votes.

May the best player win.
