Ron Artest/Metta World Peace is definitely one of the fiercest competitors the NBA has ever seen. His son, Ron Artest III, appears to be following in his footsteps.

Artest III was recently caught by TMZ’s cameras for an interview and the 17-year-old claims that he would be able to defeat LiAngelo Ball, the second of the three Ball brothers, in a 1-on-1 match should the opportunity arise.

The 17-year-old was quite cordial in his claim, but he remained confident that he could get the better of Ball. Artest III is a basketball star in his own right and is in his senior year at Beverly Hills High School in California. Similarly LiAngelo – who happens to be the same height and age as Artest III – is also in his senior year at Chino Hills High School, which also located in the Golden State.

The 6-foot-7 small forward was also asked about his opinion on LaVar Ball’s parenting techniques and how it compares to his relationship with his own father. Artest III was very courteous in describing Ball’s approach as nothing more than confidence in his children’s talents. On the other hand, he claims that the Artests have a high regard for hard work as they spend hours in the gym day in and day out.
