Gordon Hayward will be one of the big names on the free agent market this summer. The Jazz All-Star is having an excellent season and has established himself as a versatile player who can make a difference at both ends of the floor.

And although the start of free agency is still a few months away, the Jazz are already beginning to talk with Hayward about re-signing. At least that's what Rudy Gobert is doing as he wants to continue playing alongside Hayward and strongly believes the Jazz could win a championship if his teammate re-signs.

From HoopsHype's Alex Kennedy:

“I’m just going to ask him, ‘Do you want to win a championship?’” Gobert said. “I feel like with the way we’ve improved the last few years, since  got here, I don’t think it’d be a great decision to leave now. At the same time, I know sometimes there are personal decisions and I can’t really control any of that. But I know he likes to win. I know he likes it here in Utah, and his wife and kids like it here too. If he doesn’t want to live here anymore or there’s another city he wants to live in or he feels like he has a better chance to win a championship somewhere else, it’s his decision. But I’m going to remind him that I really want to win a championship and I think we can do it. If he stays, I think we’ll have chances [to win titles]. But it’s still going to be his decision at the end of the day.”

If the Jazz are able to re-sign Hayward, it will allow them to keep build on the success they have had this season. Adding another key player to their fold this summer will also be crucial if they want to contend for a championship in the near future. However, before they look into that, it is obvious that the Jazz need to prioritize re-signing Hayward before anything else.
