Led by Russell Westbrook, the Oklahoma City Thunder looked to be poised to take away homecourt advantage from the Houston Rockets in the first half of Game 2 at the Toyota Center.

The superstar guard was well on his way to yet another triple-double as he finished the first 24 minutes of play with 22 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists. Westbrook did not slow down, however, his Thunder team could not match up with the Rockets’ firepower.

James Harden and co. took this game away from Oklahoma City, 115-111, but Westbrook’s virtuoso performance, a historic one at that, wasn’t going to be unnoticed.

51 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. Despite the splendid and mind-boggling statline, the Thunder learned that they need more out of themselves if they were to come away victorious — and they figured that out the hard way.

At this point, it’s already elementary, the Oklahoma City Thunder will go as far as Russell Westbrook takes them.
