The NBA's memo to teams regarding resting their stars has been one of the most talked about topics recently because of its controversial and aggressive nature. Now, a player of the Golden State Warriors that is believed to be one of the reasons why the league office took action, has also given his thoughts about it.

No less than Stephen Curry was asked to give his reaction to it and he did not hold back, during the latest episode of 95.7 The Game’s Beyond the Arc show, by saying he feels it was an overreaction on the NBA's part.

“I think it’s overreaction, the whole rest conversation. There’s guys in eras before us that are laughing at the thought of rest and even guys today.”

“We obviously want to play, there’s no question about that. Every night we want to be out there and have fun and compete and do what we do. This rest situation comes up once or twice a year. It’s not something that’s happening once or twice a week. And it’s really in a benefit to put players in the best position to be healthy and fresh for the games that matter most, in the playoffs.”

The back-to-back MVP also highlighted how the Dubs have bounced back from losing some games after Kevin Durant was sidelined, and are once again back to their winning ways.

“For us, regular season-speaking, we hadn’t had any kind of adversity when it comes to losing streaks or real downward trends in our play. This year, obviously, with KD going down and our rotation changing and the travel schedule that we had those two weeks… Well, they’re not excuses, it is just a realization that we’re not invincible. Every NBA team goes through this in some way shape or form. It’s just a matter of how you bounce back. I think we’ve done a good job of that.”

With the regular season now in its late stages, it will be very interesting to see how teams will comply with the new rule. As controversial as it has been, and even with teams and players voicing out their displeasure of it, it doesn't appear like the NBA will recall it anytime soon. as they want to limit the losses of TV networks as well as keep the fans happy.
