Fresh off the closing ceremonies in Rio, Team USA wasted no time in showing off their newly acquired hardware on social media.

Paul George was especially eager to show his gold medal and with good reason. After overcoming the awful injury he suffered two years ago in an intrasquad scrimmage with Team USA, he's come along way back to all-star form.

The U.S. men and women, who chose to stay in a ship instead of the athlete's village during their stay in Rio, have bonded over the gold standard.

Perhaps none of the medals meant more than this one to captain Carmelo Anthony, who started off seeing the worst as a part of Team USA's 2004 squad that earned bronze, and now has earned three straight gold medals.

Even those who had a strong bond to begin with have yet another thing in common to strengthen their ties.

My brother!

And the rich get richer, as Kyrie Irving caps off a hardware-filled 2016 with an NBA Championship and an Olympic gold medal.

Finally, I think this statement from Kyle Lowry is one we can all agree on. Everybody loves gold.

I LOVE GOLD!!!!
