This season hasn't been kind to the New York Knicks and that trend simply continued today.

Tiebreakers for the NBA Draft were determined today and the Knicks, who were tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 31-51 record this season, lost out on the tiebreaker for the 6th overall pick in the draft. As a result, the Knicks will now select seventh.

This is just another example of the poor fortunes of the Knicks this season, who saw their season tank from the start despite high-profile signings last offseason of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee that were supposed to help turn things around.

The seventh pick is of course not so much worse than having the sixth. It's not as if this was the actual draft lottery just yet, in which the Knicks will still have a chance for a top three pick if they turn their luck around.

This year's draft class is touted as one of the most talented and deep in recent history. Any team in the lottery should be excited at the prospects come June.
