Tom Brady‘s revenge tour against Roger Goodell and the NFL is off to a great start. After missing the first four games of the year with a suspension stemming from the Deflategate scandal, Brady has been dominant.

In six games, Brady has completed 70.4 percent of his passes for 1,915 yards, throwing 16 touchdowns and only one interception. Like fine wine, the 39-year old Brady has gotten better with age.

The four-time Super Bowl champion's season has been so historically good, he might break one of the most impressive records of the last decade.

Five years ago, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers were operating at a borderline unstoppable level on the heels of their Super Bowl XLV victory. Rodgers took home the MVP that year (2011), passing for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns while guiding Green Bay to a 15-1 record.

Brady coming for Rodgers

In the process, Rodgers set the NFL record with a 122.5 passer rating, the best ever for a single season. With six games to go, Brady is in hot pursuit of that mark.

From the Providence Journal's Mark Daniels:

Tom Brady is first in the NFL in passer rating (123.3). Aaron Rodgers holds the NFL single-season record (122.5).

Unlike yards or touchdowns, passer rating is not a stat that accumulates. Rather, it signifies how well a quarterback has played, regardless of the number of games they've played in. So, to break Rodgers' record, Brady must continue performing at this torrid pace.

At this point, we shouldn't expect anything less from Tom.
