The Golden State Warriors are currently facing immense disappointment, becoming the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 lead in the Finals. Warriors fans do have something to look forward to however, as Vegas sportsbooks place Golden State as the early favorite to win the 2017 title at 7-4 odds. Newly crowned champion Cleveland Cavaliers are given 5-2 odds to repeat, with the Spurs and Thunder being the most likely teams that were not in the Finals this year to bring home the trophy in 2017. The Clippers, Celtics, Heat, Raptors, Bulls, and Hawks round out the top 10.

These odds obviously do not reflect any changes that are yet to be made this offseason, including the upcoming draft, free agency period and any trades that may develop. While one might expect these odds to change over the next few months, last year’s end of season odds predicted the Cavaliers winning the 2016 championship, and had the Warriors and Thunder as the next most likely teams.

With the core group of this year’s magical regular season run expected to return, Warriors fans can take solace in the future as the team should remain a title contender for some time.
