The Golden State Warriors recorded their NBA-best third 40-assist game on Thursday night in a 103-90 victory against the New York Knicks, but even more impressively, they did so by assisting in the first 36 field goals made in the game.

The team's 41 assists in 45 field goals made puts them at a 91.1 assist percentage — proving them once again the most unselfish team from top to bottom. The Warriors had a season-high 47 assists in a 149-106 shellacking of the Los Angeles Lakers in November, making these 41 a lot more crucial and effective as far as ball distribution is concerned.

The streak came to an end with an Ian Clark drive to the basket toward the end of the third quarter.

Despite poor shooting performances from Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green — along with a low scoring output given their league-best 117.3 points per game — Golden State found ways to win, as center JaVale McGee scored a season-high 17 points in 16 minutes in only his second start of the season.

Almost every single player on Steve Kerr‘s side finished the game with more passes than shots. Had the Warriors made more open shots (made only 21-of-42 without a defender within four feet of their attempts), that figure might have been even more mind-boggling.
