Wanting to make their fans aware of the growing threat of fraudulent single-game tickets that can be purchased online, the Golden State Warriors hosted “Stop Fraud Night” against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.

The idea for the promotion comes from over 1,000 fans being duped by counterfeit tickets bought online to attend games at Oracle Arena this season. Not wanting this to keep happening, the Warriors used “Stop Fraud Night” to create awareness of fraudulent ticket re-sellers and also, highlighted which websites fans should be using to buy tickets online. And wanting to help out their fans that bought counterfeit tickets in the past, Golden State also hosted a group free of charge to see the Warriors beat the Grizzlies 106-94.

Among that group of fans was Isaiah Simpson, a 6-year-old Warriors fan from Georgia. Simpson's mom had purchased tickets online to see the Warriors play the Hawks in Atlanta but they were fakes and the family could not attend the game. Hearing about the story, Warriors owner Joe Lacob flew Simpson and his mother to Oakland and gave them courtside tickets to the game, where the 6-year-old got to meet his favorite player, Stephen Curry.

Sitting courtside, Simpson and his mother got to see an excellent game from Curry (21 points, 11 assists) and a Warriors victory. It likely was an experience that Simpson will never forget about and one that should totally make up for the missed Hawks-Warriors game back in March.
