The two best words in sports might no longer be Game 7. It was the New York Knicks getting blown out by the Indiana Pacers earlier and now it's the Minnesota Timberwolves. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Mike Malone's championship acumen started kicking as soon as the ball tipped off. Now, it looks like the Denver Nuggets are going to yet another Western Conference Finals in this NBA Playoffs. All of this could be because of Christian Braun's insane way of defending Anthony Edwards.

Sentiments like Baby Jordan started going away in the first half of this Nuggets vs. Timberwolves NBA Playoffs clash. Anthony Edwards is shooting at an odd pace and is not looking like his normal self. His shots have only seen the bottom of the net three out of 14 times for this matchup. He has also not sank a single one of his three-pointers despite attempting six of them so far.

Nuggets faithful go crazy

All of this was because Mike Malone decided to employ single coverage against him. The assignment that was placed on him by the Nuggets? It was Christian Braun. Every single one of the Nuggets faithful is absolutely loving the energy that the Nuggets guard is bringing to the game.

“All series it’s been pretty evident that Christian Braun has been an elite defender when matched up with Anthony Edwards. Let’s hope that continues!” a user said.

Others are also analyzing the generational falloff of the Timberwolves superstar in this NBA Playoffs game, “Anthony Edwards in the first half of the self-proclaimed ‘greatest game 7 of all time.'4 points. 0 rebounds.1/7 from the field.-14. Getting clamped by a second-year player named Christian Braun.”

Some members of the Nuggets faithful are just loving how the defensive menace complements Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, “Hell of a block from Christian Braun in the final 20 seconds of the second quarter leads to another Murray bucket. Nuggets lead 53-38 at halftime. Denver's best defensive half of the series holds Edwards to 4 points on 1-7 FG. Murray has 24 on 8-15 FG. Jokic with 13-15-5.”

The Timberwolves can still make a run in this game. Hopefully, the Nuggets can close it out and book a ticket to face the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.
