Patrick Beverley has been known for his antics on the court. Sometimes, the Milwaukee Bucks veteran guard takes things a little bit too far. This is what happened at the conclusion of Game 6 against the Indiana Pacers, a game that the Bucks lost 120-92 and were subsequently eliminated from the playoffs. After head coach Doc Rivers emptied his bench, pulling Beverley and others from the game, the veteran acted completely out of line and ended up being involved in an incident with a Pacers' fan.

For some odd reason, Beverley carried a basketball with him to the bench at the end of the game. From there, he got into a heated exchange with some fans behind the Bucks' bench, and Beverley promptly threw the ball into the stands, hitting a woman in the head with the basketball. Upon asking for the ball back, Beverley again threw the ball at a man who was sitting a row ahead of the first fan he struck. It was later revealed by The Athletic's Shams Charania that the fan yelled “Cancun on 3” at Beverley and the Bucks.

The NBA and commissioner Adam Silver have since said that they are reviewing the incident and looking into Beverley's interaction with the fan.

Beverley took to his podcast recently to address the matter, breaking his silence on what actually transpired at the conclusion of Game 6 in Indianapolis.

“Unfortunate situation that should have never happened. What I did was bad and that should have never happened,” Beverley said during a recent episode of The Pat Bev Pod. “I have to be better and I will be better. That should have never happened. Regardless of what was said, that should have never happened. Simple as that.”

As far as what was actually said during the exchange between Beverley and a fan, the veteran guard simply stated that it was more than just “Cancun on 3.” While he did not lay out exactly what was said in the exchange, Beverley was clearly upset by whatever was said to him by the Pacers fan.

“Let's just say it was more than that,” Beverley continued. “I've been called a lot of stuff in this league. I haven't been called that one. Still inexcusable, it doesn't matter what was said, I have to be better and I will be better. I'm not going to take away from the fans that were great. It was some people that took it a little bit too far.

“I'm here to set the record straight. I was absolutely wrong, and I need to be better, and I will.”

What transpired on the bench in Game 6 against the Pacers was not the only incident Beverley was involved in that night. While in the locker room fielding questions from reporters, Pat Bev once again found a way to make headlines by not allowing a female ESPN reporter to do her job.

Beverley was answering questions while sitting at his locker when he went out of his way to personally exclude a female reporter from asking him any questions due to the fact that she was not subscribed to his podcast. In response to asking her if she was subscribed to his podcast and finding out that she wasn't, Beverley made it very clear that she could not do her job and get his opinions in that setting.

After addressing the incident regarding the ball being thrown into the stands at spectators, Beverley failed to mention anything about his run-in with the media during his postgame remarks. Malinda Adams, the ESPN employee that Beverley called out in the locker room, took to social media recently and claimed that the Bucks guard did apologize to her personally over the phone. Pat Bev has not addressed this matter publicly.

The league is expected to review everything that transpired during and after Game 6 involving Beverley, and it is possible that he could be punished. This would be nothing new for Beverley, as he missed the first game of the 2021-22 season after shoving Chris Paul in the back at the end of the playoff series between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers. A suspension for his altercation with the fan would carry over to the start of the 2024-25 season for Beverley.
