The Miami Dolphins narrowly missed out on the playoffs in the 2020 season. They finished with a record of 10-6 and showed a ton of promise with a ton of young talent on the roster.

The Dolphins added even more talent to the team in the offseason.

Free agency and the draft for the Dolphins improved the roster which can lead them to the playoffs this season. In free agency, Miami added some key players that will add a new dynamic to the team. Wide receiver Will Fuller V is one of them as he gives the team a solidified deep threat.

The Dolphins added other players in free agency that will help improve the depth of the team.

In the draft, the Dolphins also added some key players. With the sixth pick in the first round, the team selected wide receiver Jaylen Waddle who will be reunited with former Alabama teammate, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tua could have a breakout season for the Dolphins since he now has great talent around him. The team had other great draft picks including edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, safety Jevon Holland, and offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg.

After a good free agency and draft, the Dolphins made another good move. They signed an undrafted rookie who has a great shot at making the roster.

Dolphins offensive lineman Robert Jones

Rookie offensive lineman Robert Jones has a great shot at making the roster. Jones is an interior offensive lineman who appears to be a scheme fit for Miami and has a good skill set. He plays with a ton of power and has good size which is what the Dolphins typically like in linemen.

Jones is also a versatile lineman as he can play both tackle and guard. He projects to be more of a guard in the NFL and could compete for a starting job for the Dolphins. Although he may not be a top selection in the draft he still has a ton of NFL-ready skills.

He has the power and quickness to be a great run blocker and impact the game. Jones could improve as a pass blocker but that will come with reps at the NFL level. He was projected to be a Day 3 selection in the draft but fell to free agency. The Dolphins capitalized and signed him as an undrafted free agent and he has a good shot at making the roster.

He will need to improve at certain aspects of his game. Jones needs to work on his footwork in the pass protection but he has shown the ability to improve his game throughout his college career. He also needs to improve on drive blocks and which will help him become a more complete lineman.

Jones has a solid skillset and if he improves these issues he will make a great guard for the Dolphins. Look for Jones to make the roster for Miami and potentially start in the future.

Although the Dolphins may not be thought of as a division winner they have a great shot this season. The Buffalo Bills will be tough to go through but Miami has all the talent it needs.

It will take some of the young players to break out but this team is primed for a playoff appearance.

Dolphins fans should be excited — the future is bright for this team.
