It's been a while since we've seen the New York Giants be truly competitive. Luckily for fans, the franchise has made several exciting moves in this offseason. With Brian Daboll leading the way, New York has regained confidence with a plethora of young talent at the helm. With that in mind, we take a look at one undrafted free agent who could make the Giants' 2022 roster.

The front office signed 13 undrafted free agents after the NFL Draft, giving the coaching staff plenty of prospects to evaluate throughout training camp. Considering the Giants have a rather mediocre roster it's likely at least one of these rookies will be on the team to start the regular season.

Offensively, there is plenty to be excited about while the defense can still use some work. For that reason, we should see an undrafted edge rusher make some noise in training camp. If this rookie can perform well throughout the summer, he should find himself with a solid rotational role in the Giants' defense.

With that said, here is our one undrafted free agent who will make the Giants' 2022 roster.

Giants Undrafted Free Agent To Make 2022 Roster

Tomon Fox

Coming out of North Carolina, Tomon Fox is one of the most experienced college players entering the NFL. He spent six seasons (yes, you read that correctly) with the Tarheels. Fox played a large role throughout his collegiate career, wracking up a total of 179 tackles (44.5 for a loss), 30.5 sacks, and five forced fumbles. Due to his experience, it feels like the Giants signed a wily veteran instead of a rookie after the NFL Draft.

New York can use this type of experience on the roster. This team is incredibly young and anybody that's comfortable on the field will help. Tomon Fox is capable of playing defensive end and outside linebacker, as he plays his best rushing the quarterback. He's also not bad at stuffing the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage either, which will only hope his chances of making the Giants' final roster.

It's not like New York has a stacked front seven right now, as Kayvon Thibodeaux is already the best pass rusher on the team without taking a single snap. Tomon Fox will have a legitimate opportunity to make the Giants 2022 roster. His experience coupled with the lack of talent at outside linebacker bodes well in his favor. For that reason, Fox can earn a rotational role in his rookie campaign while likely playing special teams often.

Tomon Fox will be in direct competition with Elerson Smith, Oshane Ximines, and Niko Lalos. There is a chance Fox beats out one of the players higher up on the depth chart, however, these specific players will be the main names he is competing against for a roster spot. If he performs well through training camp the Giants will have to give him some sort of role.

His experience in North Carolina gives him a massive advantage. Not many rookies have six years of college football under their belt. It'll be fun to see the position battle play out, as the Giants will benefit from this entire experience. Look for Tomon Fox to turn heads in the summer, as he has a real chance to make the final roster in New York.
