Sneaker culture around the world really boomed with the rise of social media. Two benefactors of that boom are Qias Omar and Dillon Droppz. Omar has a huge YouTube channel, with over 1.4 million subscribers, centered around the whole phenomenon of sneaker culture. They decided to join forces in opening a completely new sneaker shop in San Diego, California, where they both hail from. The shop, Off The Bench, formally opened its doors on the 5th of December. It has been the talk of the town ever since. Clutch Points' very own Nikki Goel was there and had a chance to talk to the pair.As they are both, of course, heavily involved in the sneakerhead community, one question was implied – what are the greatest shoes of all time?

This is an age-old discussion within the community and one that really does not have a direct answer. Omar and Dillon were unable to settle on a single pair of sneakers, so they both decided to give out a few options.

First, it was Omar. He chimed in with this top five, which has some serious bangers in there: “If I could remember everything Chicago Air Jordan 1, Kobe 6 Grinch… I really love the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1s to the brown pair. Cherry Jordan 12 because that was my first ever Jordan and then just Classic Air Force One Low-tops.”

Of course, the Chicago Air Jordan 1's are one of the greatest shoes of all time. At the time of its release, it was also banned by the NBA, and Michael Jordan was fined $5,000 every time he wore it during the game. As Complex wrote, Nike happily paid all the fines for it and used the banning in their advertising campaign, creating some sort of myth around this pair. While his business partner went heavily towards Jordan, Dillon decided to go in a different direction.

Dillon said his top five, again including some great shoes: “SBs, Paris SBs, Freddy [Kreuger] SBs, G Dragon Para Noise, Flight Jordan 1 Spike Lees.”

It is clear that Dillon is a huge fan of the SB part of the Nike collection. Of course, Vans historically dominated the skateboarding sneakers culture, but Nike and their whole line of SB's caught on in the meantime. Clearly, Dillon prefers the Nike SB's to other skateboarding shoes and it is very hard to argue his top five. Interestingly enough, one of his choices is the G Dragon Para Noise, the SB's that were designed by Korean superstar G Dragon, released just in November of 2020.

Obviously, everyone's list of greatest shoes is different in some regard. However, reading these names and these legendary sneakers, it is very hard to argue with the top ten that this pairing mentioned.
