Second-ýear G-League player Myke Henry will sign a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, as reported by Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania:

This is the first ever NBA experience for the 25-year old forward. He played with the Oklahoma City Thunder's G-league affiliate for the past two seasons.

Out of DePaul, Henry declared for the 2016 NBA Draft but went undrafted. He signed with the Oklahoma City Blue and had an underwhelming 2016-17 rookie season in the G-League, averaging only 3.5 points in about 12 minutes for 38 games. This season has been a different story for him, as through 25 games Henry averages 25.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 steals with much-improved shooting, at 52.2 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from behind the three-point arc.

What mostly stands out from his game is his defense. Last season he had a top 10 defensive rating in the G-League, and this season he is top 10 in steals and steals percentage. The Grizzlies could use his defensive services for sure, as they currently rank 19th in defensive rating compared to other teams. Memphis also stands dead last in pace, and Henry's stealing abilities could help increase fastbreak and scoring opportunities.

Myke Henry joins a shooting guard/small forward rotation that includes Chandler Parsons, James Ennis, Ben McLemore, Wayne Selden, and Dillon Brooks. Henry may not see much playing time, but at least he has a deal with an NBA team and could have his name called if more injuries keep haunting the Grizzlies.
