The Buffalo Bills had a great 2020 season but a disappointing end. They lost in the AFC Championship Game. They went 13-3 and showed the potential that they have. The Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished second in MVP voting behind Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers. They have steps to take, and the 2021 NFL draft tried to bring them closer to their goal.

They had a very underrated offseason. The Bills made a key signing and had some good draft picks. In free agency they signed wide receiver and former Pro Bowler Emmanuel Sanders.

Although Sanders struggled in 2020, he could revitalize his career in a good Bills passing offense. With Stefon Diggs beside him and Allen at quarterback, the Bills offense could become very dynamic.

The Bills made even more great moves in the draft and here are the best 2 that they made.

Bills NFL draft chess moves:

2. Offensive tackle Spencer Brown

Spencer Brown was the 3rd round selection by the Bills and he will help protect Allen. While he may not start right away Brown has a ton of potential and could become a great tackle. His athleticism is unreal for a player of his size.

Brown is 6'8 and 311 pounds and has so much upside and could be a franchise tackle for Allen and the Bills. Look for Brown to be a solid backup in year one and develop into a starting tackle.

1. Defensive end Gregory Rousseau

Gregory Rousseau was a perfect pick in the first round for the Bills. They struggled in the pass rush last season which really showed in the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a ton of success against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl due to the pass rush they created on Patrick Mahomes.

If the Bills want to make it past the Chiefs they will need to create pass rush and Rousseau will definitely help that.

While Rousseau is not a polished or day one ready defensive end he has a ton of potential and upside. He has all the physical talent you want in a player as he is 6'7 and 266 pounds. Rousseau had some production in college as he had 15.5 sacks back in 2019 but he still needs to grow as a player.

He doesn't have to start right away as the Bills have some depth at the position that will allow him to develop. Once Rousseau is a developed player he could become one of the top pass rushers in the league.

Look for Rousseau to take time to develop but become a great pass rusher in the NFL.

The Bills had a fantastic offseason and are prepared for another deep playoff run this season. Both sides of the ball seemed to improve and they have a ton of young talent on the roster.

A rivalry may develop between the Bills and the Chiefs as both teams are great and are primed to meet in the playoffs again. With two of the top quarterbacks in the league in Mahomes and Allen it will be a great matchup every time they play each other.

The draft by the Bills sets them up for an even brighter future by taking players with unreal potential. With the roster now gaining playoff experience from last year they are ready to get back this year and compete for a Super Bowl title.

Bills fans should be excited as the team has a great future ahead.
