Following a playoff appearance for the Washington Football Team, the young and talented roster got better. While you may not think of them as a playoff team as they finished 7-9 to win the NFC East, they are one. Last season it was evident this young group had potential especially on the defensive side of the ball. Washington made sure to add to the young group with a solid draft. However, even after the draft, the missing piece for Washington is still at quarterback but they have a few options who could be solid this season.

Fitzmagic heads to Washington. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a hyped-up quarterback his whole career and has delivered some big moments for many teams. Although he won't be a long-term solution at quarterback he could help them make another playoff run. Taylor Heinicke also may be the quarterback for this team as he showed his grit in the playoff game against the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In the draft, Washington was highly expected to take a quarterback but the board didn't fall that way. They weren't able to find their future plans at that position but they solidified a great number of positions in the draft.

2. Offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi

After losing Pro Bowl tackle Trent Williams a year ago they needed to find a replacement left tackle. Cosmi will fit that role really well. He has all the tools to be a day one starter for Washington and he could be the missing piece on the offensive line. Cosmi's leverage and strength allow him to be a great run blocker, especially on inside zone plays. He is not a great pass blocker but has improved every season and will look to get even better.

He was a three-year starter at the University of Texas which will allow him to translate easily. For an offensive lineman, Cosmi has good agility which will let him move well and create room for the running back. Cosmi may not be an elite lineman on day one but he will still make a great impact.

1. Linebacker Jamin Davis

The elite defense gets even better. With their first-round pick, Washington selected Davis as an inside linebacker with a ton of potential. He only started one season in college at Kentucky but his talent was too hard to pass on. Davis is a big linebacker with great athleticism and vision. His play recognition paired with his pursuit makes it easy for him to break up plays all over the field. Davis' strength and length allow him to finish off tackles.

The addition of Davis at linebacker could transition this defense to the best in the NFL. All of the young stars on defense coming together and developing will make it hard for any offense to keep up with. Davis may take some time to develop into a star but he will be able to come in and start right away.

Washington Football Team fans should be excited about how the team is being built. They are primed to be competitive for years to come.
