Dolphins Trade

Deshaun Watson, QB

Before we dive into this it is important to realize that Tua Tagovailoa is 7-5 in his career as a starter for the Dolphins. Tua has put up this record despite having minimal weapons last season, and one of the league's worst offensive lines this season.

The trade talks for Miami acquiring DeShaun Watson have been going on since this past summer. Many feel that it could happen as soon as this week.

If Watson's allegations are all cleared up this is an obvious move for the Dolphins to make. Not because Tua isn't good enough, but because DeShaun Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Watson would be an automatic upgrade, but if the Dolphins don't upgrade their offensive line Watson can only be so good for them. An offense is only as good as your line is and that's a major issue for the Dolphins.

It seems likely that Watson will be in a Dolphins jersey by November 2nd.

Offensive Line

If you have seen any of the Dolphins games this season you have to notice just how bad their line is. They were ranked as the 28th worst coming into the season, and have played up to par with that ranking.

There are many serviceable offensive linemen that the Dolphins can go after at the NFL trade deadline.

If they plan on bringing in Watson they will also need to recognize that Watson might be better than Tua, but still won't play great if he's getting pressured every play. A quarterback is only as good as his line is, the Dolphins

Miami can look to add a few guys at the break and bring them in when they bring Watson. This year doesn't look like much can happen due to their 1-5 start, but it would be a nice step for the future.

There is a chance the Dolphins are sellers at the deadline. Many believe Watson will end up in a Dolphin jersey, but outside of that, they might sell. Keep a lookout for star Xavien Howard to possibly be moved. The Dolphins can get a nice haul back for him and if they feel that the move would cater to the future, it's a possibility. They might also look to move a wide receiver to free up some space and bring in a running back next season.

It will be interesting to see what the Dolphins front office does. They haven't had a ton of success in the draft, even with having high draft picks. They are struggling this year, despite having high expectations for the season.

Watson looks to be the guy they add but they will also want to add a few offensive linemen to really get the future going.
