Meet the Robinsons — the Los Angeles Rams' two hidden gems for the 2022 NFL season.

The current Super Bowl winners, the Los Angeles Rams, have proceeded to restock on talent over the offseason in the hopes of going back-to-back.

They're not starting from scratch, of course. In fact, the Rams' roster for the 2022 season has a bunch of superstars. This includes Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Bobby Wagner. That core alone already puts the team in a position to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

On the other hand, there are also unheralded and underrated heroes on this team. These are the guys who significantly contribute to the team's overall success despite not making it to many headlines. There are also a couple of studs who will probably be among the aces up coach Sean McVay's sleeves.

Rams Hidden Gems On 2022 Roster

2. A’Shawn Robinson

First, there's A'Shawn Robinson, who joined the Rams during free agency in 2020. It did take him some time to get comfortable on the field as he only participated in eight games during his first season in Los Angeles.

Fast forward to the 2021 NFL season, though, and it was a far different tale. Robinson played in all 20 games for the Rams, starting 17 of them. Take note that in Super Bowl LVI, in the most important game of his life, Robinson recorded an 89.5 on the Pro Football Focus scale out of 100. He not only stepped up big time when it counted, but he also equaled his career highs in sacks and tackles during the regular season. By those metrics, there is a strong case to be made that A'Shawn was among the greatest players on the field for the Rams throughout the 2021 NFL season and Playoffs.

Maybe he doesn't receive as much press because his is not a “glamor position.” He is a defensive end for the Rams, and well, we don't hear much about those guys, right? More so since A'Shawn is on the same defensive line as arguably the best defensive lineman in league history, Aaron Donald.

Still, that does not diminish A'Shawn's contribution throughout the whole of last season. Recall that he had to step into the vacuum left after Sebastian Joseph-Day missed most of the season due to injury.

If the Rams are to go deep and have a legitimate shot at repeating, A'Shawn Robinson will be a huge part of that.

1. Allen Robinson

The Ram's wide receivers are anchored on the play of one Cooper Kupp. As great as he was last season, though, he'll have some competition now that erstwhile Chicago Bears free agent Allen Robinson has been signed.

Allen Robinson has long been considered a WR with great potential. In fact, he made it to the Pro Bowl in 2015. Pundits believe that playing with generally average quarterbacks in the past years has held Allen's productivity back. Now, with Stafford under center, Allen should be unleashed.

Keep in mind that heading into next season, most of the Rams' foes will likely focus on stopping Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp. That could potentially open more space for Allen to do his own damage. This gives McVay a vaunted two-headed beast for their passing game.

Some might say having Kupp and Allen alongside each other could prove to be problematic since they're both “alpha” WRs.

But as cliche as it may sound, this is a good problem to have. Most other teams wish they had even one top-tier wide out. The Rams have two.

Allen is coming off a season where he underperformed. He had just 38 receptions for 410 total yards. His average yards-per-catch was just 10.8 — the lowest of his career.

Some fans might see that as a red flag. Allen, however, now has the chance to show that he is still an exceptional wide receiver.

Robinson himself believes that he is a top-five receiver. It is difficult to claim that he lacks the physical tools of any of the great players. The 28-year-old definitely has the physical tools to back up that talk. Additionally, he should also benefit greatly from a change of environment. In Los Angeles, Allen can look forward to improved coaching staff, playing with a star player like Kupp, and, of course, receiving throws from a champion quarterback.

Now, if Allen Robinson can regain the form he had in 2020 when he hauled in 102 catches for 1,250 yards, then the Rams should be in very good shape.
