The Kanas City Chiefs are without question a Super Bowl contender that's loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. However, there are still a few players on this deep roster that are major x-factors and could be major contributors during their future playoff runs.

These are draft prospects with high expectations that can add to the team and fill in some major needs for them as well. Despite making the title game for the second consecutive year, the Chiefs were outplayed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After their brutal loss, it became evident that they have needs to address during the offseason. So let's just say that their draft picks were a huge indicator of what's currently lacking on this team. With that said, let's take a look at the two hidden gems on the Chiefs roster that could break out and make a huge splash in the upcoming NFL season.

Creed Humphrey

During the Super Bowl, the Buccaneers exposed the Chiefs biggest weakness: a strong offensive line. With the addition of Creed Humphrey, Patrick Mahomes would be getting top-notch protection from the best offensive linemen in the Big-12 over the past two years. In Humphrey the Chiefs would also be getting a sturdy center that would not be liable to fumbling and botching the snap on crucial plays.

Having Humphrey wouldn't just be the logical move for Kansas City, but he'd also make their offensive line more efficient and better able to provide Mahomes with the protection that a pro bowl caliber quarterback like him is in desperate need of. If there's a hidden gem on this squad that could revive the Chiefs front line on offense, then there's no doubt that Creed Humphrey is the man for the job.

Plus going younger at the center spot would actually be more beneficial for the Chiefs. Then, they'll be able to provide a more durable snapper for Mahomes that can protect him all throughout his career.

Trey Smith

Another big body that could help alleviate the Chiefs offensive line mishaps, Trey Smith was standout offensive guard at Tennessee and would be another much-needed enforcer to protect Mahomes from a vicious edge rush or a jail house blitz during the regular season and the playoffs. With Smith's ability to play both left and right guard, the Chiefs will have a highly skilled offensive linemen that would be able to go toe-to-toe with some of the league's most dominant pass rushers.

Standing at 6'6, 331 lbs, Smith's size and versatility will provide the Chiefs with plenty of blocking that will create lots of openings for big rushes or reliable protection for their receivers in the open field. Adding Smith to the offensive line is an absolute must for a Chiefs team that had trouble keeping their MVP safe all super bowl long.

Smith would be a stable solution for them on the offensive line and give them a multi-skilled guard that could transform the Chiefs front line into one of the best in the NFL. Given his power, size, and strength, the Chiefs would have an absolute steal with Trey Smith and would be able to hold on to him for the long haul. No to mention there's few better places to play than with the back-to-back AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs.
