Mandatory training camps are underway and teams around the NFL are getting the first glimpse of their 2021 rosters. One franchise looking for an improved season is the New England Patriots. Bill Belichick and the front office entered the offseason with a different strategy, as they were aggressive during free agency.

The Patriots have brought in a plethora of new talent in an attempt to reclaim the AFC East. With a revamped offense and a stout defense, New England could be a dangerous team next season. However, the roster isn't perfect, as there are a few holes still left on the team.

Even so, there are a couple of gems standing out amongst the Patriots lineup, specifically on the offensive side of the ball. Considering that's where the most help is needed, having two gems on the offense could turn into a huge advantage for them throughout next year. With that said, here are two hidden gems on the New England Patriots.

Jakobi Meyers

Jakobi Meyers was quietly the best wide receiver on the Patriots last year. He finished the season with 59 receptions and 729 yards. He never did score a touchdown, but he proved to be the most consistent target when his number was called. With Cam Newton likely under center again, Meyers will serve as a familiar passing option for Newton, which bodes well for Meyers' potential.

Sure, the front office brought in Nelson Agholar and Kendrick Bourne to the receiving core, but neither of them guaranteed consistent options. In fact, early reports coming out of New England suggest Meyers is standing out amongst his peers and has the potential to be the Patriots' top receiver on the depth chart. If that's the case, then Meyers could be in line for a breakout season.

He emerged as the top target for the Patriots last year, but many have made Meyers an afterthought this offseason. The stars are aligning however for Jakobi Meyers to have a big year as he enters the third season of his young career.

Rhamondre Stevenson

Rhamondre Stevenson was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The former Oklahoma Sooners running back joins a crowded running back room, but he has the talent to stand out and earn some playing time his rookie year with the Patriots. He didn't have many opportunities to improve his draft stock last year, as COVID-19 only allowed Oklahoma to play six games. Even so, Stevenson was having a monster year, as he was on pace for over 1,440 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.

Damian Harris is in line to be the starting running back in New England, but Stevenson could have an opportunity to prove his worth. Sony Michel has been less than impressive in his NFL career so far, and James White serves more as a weapon in the passing game. For that reason, Stevenson could outperform Michel for the backup running back spot and receive some carries in his rookie season.

He might not pop off the page at first, as he'll need to earn his place on the roster. However, based on how the Patriots utilize the running back position, we should be seeing Stevenson on the field sooner, rather than later.
