It's been a couple of months since Tyler Herro rookie cards have trended down. Thanks to a lackluster sophomore season and a forgettable playoff performance, the Miami Heat's young guard found his stock falling down for quite some time. But while a lot of collectors have slept on him, Herro's preseason is showing he's on the rise again.

With the NBA set to open in a few days, the hype for basketball cards is going up as well. We take a look at why collectors should take a chance at Herro's stock in the card market and its state right now.

2 Reasons Tyler Herro Rookie Cards Are Going To Pack Serious Heat This Season

Herro's Preseason Is A Precursor Of Things To Come

Without a doubt, Herro's rookie season caught many by surprise. The young guard came out of nowhere and contributed meaningful minutes to help the Heat reach the NBA Finals two seasons ago. Unfortunately, the hype that came along with Herro loomed like a large shadow during his second year in the NBA.

Although his sophomore averages of 15.1 points, five rebounds, and 3.4 assists looked solid, Herro's disappointing performance during the postseason led many collectors to sour on him. While a lot of fans expected him to explode against the Milwaukee Bucks, the opposite happened with the young stud disappearing during the first round of the playoffs.

As disheartening as that can be, Herro's preseason infused him with new life in the hobby. Throughout four games, he averaged 20.8 points on 47% shooting from the field, almost 35% from deep, and 86% from the free throw line. The guard also found himself contributing 4.5 rebounds and three assists in 27.9 minutes per contest.

While the preseason is a far cry to what might come in the regular and postseason, Tyler Herro's performance is indeed promising. If he manages to play this way, even as part of the reserve unit, Miami has a strong chance to nab a top spot in the Eastern Conference.

An Improved Miami Heat Roster Will Benefit Herro

Offense was a glaring issue for the Heat last season. Outside of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the lack of reliable scoring and playmaking was exploited by Miami's opponents. Sadly, Tyler Herro was placed in a position where he couldn't consistently contribute in those areas.

That won't be the case when Miami makes their run this season. The offense will now go through Kyle Lowry, their new starting point guard. The addition of P.J. Tucker and the imminent return of Victor Oladipo will only make things easier when it comes to the Heat's offense.

In turn, this new roster will reduce the pressure around Herro, helping him become more consistent with his new role – getting buckets and making a lot of them from the bench. If he transforms into what Jordan Clarkson has become for the Utah Jazz, the Heat won't have any problem generating offense as the new season progresses.

The Current State of Tyler Herro Cards In The Market

Herro's stock in the card market has been sleeping since the Miami Heat were eliminated by the Bucks in the first round. But thanks to his impressive preseason showing, his value seems to be waking up.

At the start of this month, a PSA 10 Prizm Silver Tyler Herro rookie card was worth $350 on eBay. After four games into the preseason, that number has jumped up to $500 right now. This price increase is a sign that collectors are flocking back to Herro's stock right before the new season starts.

With the Miami Heat having a better lineup than what they had last season, hopes are high that they can finish better next year. If the team's offseason moves come to fruition by then, Tyler Herro rookie cards will gain more prominence and value in the hobby. Getting one at a good deal will really pay dividends down the road.
