AJ Hoggard, a four-star points guard prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class, has committed to play for the Michigan State Spartans.

The young man made the announcement himself early on Sunday afternoon. He gave Rivals the scoop.

Hoggard is an interesting prospect for several reasons, but one of the bigger things is his rise up top 100 boards in recent months.

Speaking of AJ Hoggard and how places view him, not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have the young man pegged as a four-star caliber prospect, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 70 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.

As recently as two months ago, he was in the 100-ish range. Clearly scouts have grown to like him as time has gone on.

Obviously, this is a good get for the Michigan State Spartans. Just this past week, current players spoke about why they are no longer active on social media. In turn, Hoggard will need to adapt if he's tickled fancy by the mean streets of Twitter.

College basketball season is quickly approaching, so fully expect a few more recruits to commit to programs prior to the campaign's first tip.
