The postseason slate in your respective fantasy football leagues are quickly approaching, and while the trade deadline has likely already passed, you can still upgrade your teams through your weekly waiver wire pickups. For Week 13, there are plenty of options that can help out your team and push you back into postseason contention.

As always, all included players in this week’s list are rostered on 50 percent or fewer rosters on the ESPN fantasy football platform, meaning that you have a very likely chance to be able to pick any of these options up.

Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups

10. Foster Moreau – TE
0.6% Rostered
Las Vegas Raiders

With Darren Waller dealing with a strained IT band injury to his knee that was suffered on Thanksgiving, the Las Vegas Raiders will likely be turning to Foster Moreau until Waller is able to get back onto the field.

Earlier in the season when Waller missed time, Moreau hauled in six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown against Philadelphia, so Moreau is more than capable of filling in for Waller if he misses time.

Hosting Washington in Week 13 presents a challenge for the Raiders and their TE group, as they are pretty stout against that position – but if Moreau ends up being the starter with Waller out, he represents a solid option for your waiver wire pickups this week.

9. Tua Tagovailoa – QB
44.8% Rostered
Miami Dolphins

Ever since he was drafted, Tua Tagovailoa has been doubted as the starting QB for the Miami Dolphins – in his 2021 season, even with fighting through injuries, Tagovailoa has been playing the best ball of his career, and Week 13 represents another solid chance to improve his fantasy football standing.

Hosting the Giants gives the Dolphins a solid chance to have a solid offensive output, boosting Tagovailoa’s value as a spot start or as a bye-week replacement. With rookie Jaylen Waddle producing big numbers, Tagovailoa has a strong set of targets in the passing game, something that should continue this next week.

8. Van Jefferson – WR
42.8% Rostered
Los Angeles Rams

Even with the addition of Odell Beckham Jr., Van Jefferson still holds an important role in the passing offense for the Rams, and he continues to serve as a deep threat for Matthew Stafford.

Jefferson received his highest target share of the season with nine, and even though he only caught three, he went for 93 yards and a score against Green Bay. Having received at least four targets in all but two games this year, Jefferson’s role has solidified and will continue to expand as the Rams try to find out what has been holding them back.

7. Carson Wentz – QB
44.2% Rostered
Indianapolis Colts

Boasting a sparkling 21:5 TD-to-INT ratio, Carson Wentz has been a revelation at the QB position for the Indianapolis Colts alongside breakout star Jonathan Taylor. His connection with Michael Pittman Jr. has helped both players ascend into fantasy football relevancy, and Wentz again presents fantastic value for your waiver wire pickups this week.

The Colts travel to Houston this week, and during this year’s Week 6 matchup, Wentz threw for 223 yards and 2 TDs, a healthy-enough showing on just 20 pass attempts. With Taylor likely to command another large touch share, Wentz’s opportunities may be limited, but he certainly still should produce mid-QB1 numbers yet again.

6. Jamaal Williams – RB
46.1% Rostered
Detroit Lions

When Jamaal Williams was out with an injury, the fantasy football community was exposed to a boatload of D’Andre Swift in the Detroit Lions’ backfield, and he absolutely took advantage of it. But with Swift likely out for at least one week, it turns back to Williams as the leader.

Hosting the Vikings this week presents the Lions with another chance to secure their first win of the year, and with Williams back in the driver’s seat, he fits back into the RB2 category, a role he has thrived in when called upon in the past this season. Having allowed over 215 standard fantasy points to RBs this year helps increase Williams’ ceiling to that of a high-end RB2 this week.

5. Boston Scott – RB
17.1% Rostered
Philadelphia Eagles

As Jordan Howard was ruled out before the game and Miles Sanders suffered an injury during the game, it shifted back to Boston Scott being the main back in this offense, as his 15 carries for 64 yards and a TD showed.

With the status of Howard and Sanders still both up in the air for Week 13 against the Jets, Scott offers solid value as a FLEX play, even if one of these options are healthy enough to suit up. If not, then Scott gets bumped into RB2 range against a Jets team that is historically horrendous against RBs.

4. Kendrick Bourne – WR
15.2% Rostered
New England Patriots

Looking like one of the best value offensive signings this past offseason, Kendrick Bourne has had himself one of the most consistent-quiet seasons for a fantasy football player. Acting as one of Mac Jones’ favorite targets, Bourne has become fantasy football relevant, even if his target share is a bit low.

The past five weeks have provided Bourne with at least four targets, having received six and seven respectively along the way in separate games. With the Patriots needing to rely more on Jones down the stretch, look for Bourne to ramp up his involvement in the passing attack, starting in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills.

3. Chuba Hubbard – RB
33.4% Rostered
Carolina Panthers

Christian McCaffrey is done for the year, as he was placed onto the IR for the second time this season, putting the weight back onto the shoulders of rookie Chuba Hubbard.

The Panthers have the Falcons first up in Week 14 (after their bye), followed up by games against the Bills and against a strong Tampa Bay rushing attack – be that as it may, Hubbard certainly can become a league winner for your fantasy football team down the stretch.

When CMC missed time previously, Hubbard handled the load well, and he looks to be filling that same role moving forward, even for a team struggling to identify themselves on offense.

2. D’Onta Foreman / Dontrell Hilliard – RBs
41.3% / 27.9% Rostered
Tennessee Titans

Both of these players rushed for over 100 yards Sunday against the Patriots, and both D’Onta Foreman and Dontrelle Hilliard look likely capable fill-in options for the Tennessee Titans after Derrick Henry’s injury.

With their Week 13 bye up next, the Titans get to host three of their next four games (JAX, SF, MIA), while traveling to PIT in Week 15 – their game against the Jaguars will hopefully paint a better picture of who is going to earn more carries down the stretch, but as it looks now, both Foreman and Hilliard are solid options.

If needing to make a choice, Foreman looks to be the more solid option here, as he out-touched Hilliard by seven, even though he had lower yardage totals. 68 yards of 131 rushing yards Hilliard produced came on one play right before halftime, but he was still able to be efficient with his other touches on the day.

1. Alexander Mattison – RB
33.5% Rostered
Minnesota Vikings

Another case of a backup being thrust into the starting role when the team’s star RB is hurt – Alexander Mattison is back into the spotlight for the Minnesota Vikings.

With Dalvin Cook set to miss time after MRI results showed he tore his labrum after dislocating his shoulder against the Niners, Mattison will step back into the lead role on Sunday against a Lions team that he shredded for 153 total yards and a score on 32 touches back in Week 5.

With Cook’s injury labeled as a multi-week but not season-ending type, Mattison can help propel you into the postseason just with his performances the next few weeks against Detroit and Pittsburgh.
