The fantasy football playoffs are just one week away in most standard leagues. If you are in contention, now is the time to really dial in. It's time to continue our fantasy start 'em sit 'em series with a breakdown of the tight end position.

Tight ends are by far the toughest position to get a crack on this year. There aren't any consistent players out there because of injury or lack of targets. Even Travis Kelce isn't playing to the standard we all expected him to be at. George Kittle is starting to come alive again, though, and should be started in your lineup because of his dominance. Let's take a look at the six fantasy tight ends you should consider starting or benching for fantasy football Week 14.

Fantasy Football Week 14 Start ‘Em

Dawson Knox – Buffalo Bills

Since coming back from his broken wrist, Knox was starting to get going again. He caught two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints in Week 12 but caught just two passes for 12 yards on Monday night. The weather in Buffalo was so cold that neither QB could really throw. That isn't much of a knock on Knox, and he should bounce back against a favorable opponent. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rank 26th against opposing tight ends.

Evan Engram – New York Giants

Even without a set starter at quarterback this week, Engram has a chance to play well. The Los Angeles Chargers rank 30th against opposing tight ends. If Jake Fromm is the starter for the Giants, he'll likely target Engram as much as possible because he has really been the only valuable target this season. Engram could play better than most tight ends this week.

Ricky Seals-Jones – Washington Football Team

Seals-Jones is on this list because of the injury to Logan Thomas. Thomas will once again miss time, which will benefit Seals-Jones' fantasy value. He played pretty well during Thomas' absence and has the door open again for him in Week 14. They face the Dallas Cowboys, who rank 22nd against opposing fantasy tight ends.

Fantasy Football Tight Ends Sit' Em

Tyler Higbee – Los Angeles Rams

Higbee faces a difficult opponent this week. The Arizona Cardinals rank second against opposing fantasy tight ends. He caught five passes for 48 yards in the win over the Jaguars, so his value just isn't there. Higbee has only reached 15 fantasy points once this year, and that came way back in Week 3. He shouldn't perform very well, especially with how dominant receiver Cooper Kupp is.

Tyler Conklin – Minnesota Vikings

Conklin faces the ninthranked Pittsburgh Steelers defense on Thursday night. That is a difficult defense to go up against, but the Vikings will be without Adam Theilen as well. While that should boost Conklin's targets, I don't think it will be enough for him to make difference. There are better options out there that could get you more fantasy points in a crucial week.

C.J. Uzomah – Cincinnati Bengals

Uzomah started the season slowly but seemed to really figure it out once Week 4 came along. He played consistently for about four straight weeks but started to fall off again. He's only catching about 3-5 passes a game, which is not worth starting in your lineup. He should be avoided until his production starts to rise again.
