Oregon star Chris Duarte officially went to the Indiana Pacers as the No. 13 overall pick of the 2021 NBA draft.

At 24 years old, Duarte is one of the most NBA-ready players in this year's class. Unlike some of the younger and more raw prospects in the draft, the Dominican Republic native should be able to contribute right away for the Pacers.

Chris Duarte played four years in the amateur ranks, with his first two at Northwest Florida State College. At the time, no one could have predicted his path toward the 2021 NBA Draft. Afterward, he went to the Oregon Ducks, where he played his junior and senior years. As a senior, the 6-foot-6 turned in averages of 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.9 steals, and nearly a block. He also showed extreme efficiency, knocking down 53.2 percent of his shots from the field and 42.4 percent from three.

His shooting is perhaps the main reason why the Pacers took him. Chris Duarte has a beautiful-looking stroke that translates to elite-level sniping from beyond the arc. Whether he is spotting up, pulling up in transition, or coming off screens, the Oregon stud is an absolute deadeye in any which way he lets it fly.

Duarte will likely thrive as a 3-point shooter for the most part early in his career. Nonetheless, he has shown an expanded offensive arsenal, with an ability to score on off-the-dribble pull-ups and even step-backs. Likewise, he is also get to the basket and finish at the rim with consistency. It's partially why he was such an intriguing 2021 NBA Draft prospect.

On defense, Duarte has shown great intelligence and instincts on that side of the floor, especially in terms of his rotations and help defense. He is adept at anticipating when to jump at his man for a swipe and is able to time the passing lanes well.

Chris Duarte should instantly become an elite 3-and-D option for the Pacers as soon as he makes his debut. Nonetheless, they are surely happy with their selection in the 2021 NBA Draft.
