Week 7 of the fantasy baseball season is set to get underway. It has been a roller coaster ride of a season so far with a number of significant breakout performers, busts, and injuries. Most notably, Max Scherzer suffered an injury in Week 6 that is expected to keep him out for 6-8 weeks.

Scherzer owners might initially scramble to find a mainstay to replace the Mets ace in their rotation. However, placing Scherzer on the IL opens a spot on your roster for pitcher streamers. And unless there is an obvious replacement, streaming pitchers may be the way to go with Scherzer out of commission.

Without further ado, let's go ahead and take a look at the top fantasy baseball Week 7 pitcher streamers.

Note: Each pitcher discussed is rostered in 60 or less percent of leagues according to Yahoo. We will take a look at the best two-start pitchers and one-start pitchers for Week 7.

Week 7 Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Streamers

Two-Start Pitchers

Jordan Montgomery, NYY, 54% Rostered

Matchups: vs. BAL, @TB

Jordan Montgomery may or may not be available depending on the size of your league. But the Yankees left-hander is worth the add if he is available.

He lasted five innings and surrendered three runs against Baltimore on Thursday. However, Montgomery should be in store for a better performance against their rather lackluster lineup. And Tampa Bay doesn't exactly tear the cover off the ball either. When you consider the probability of earning a win given the Yankees talented offense, Montgomery should pay off as a Week 7 pitcher streamer.

Nick Pivetta, BOS, 18% Rostered

Matchups: @CHW, vs. BAL

We are picking on the Orioles this week. Sure, their lineup got a bit more dangerous with their recent call up of top prospect Adley Rutschman. But they are still a team worth streaming against.

Last season, the White Sox would have been a team you avoided at all costs. However, their lineup has been decimated by injuries and underperformance so far in 2022.

But the reality is that regardless of the matchup, Pivetta is worth a stream after firing a complete game against the Astros in his last outing. The Red Sox are playing better as of late and Pivetta has followed suit.

Go ahead and take a shot on the Red Sox right-hander.

Tyler Anderson, LAD, 32% Rostered

Matchups: @WSH, @AZ

Tyler Anderson fired 7 innings 2-run ball against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He is scheduled to face the Nationals and then Arizona once again this week. These are both tasty matchups for the left-hander. The thing that stands out about Anderson as compared to other streamers is his strikeout potential.

Anderson has struck out 12 batters over the course of his past two games. There is a strong chance he strikes out 15 or more against Washington and Arizona this week combined.

Kyle Freeland, COL, 5% Rostered

Matchups: @PIT, @WSH

Kyle Freeland is a decent pitcher. If he pitched anywhere besides Colorado his roster percentage would be much higher. But pitching in Coors Field has made him undesirable for most fantasy baseball owners.

However, Freeland gets a couple of road starts against subpar offenses this week. He could be the X-Factor to winning your Week 7 matchup.

Freeland's last two starts were extremely confusing. He surrendered 6 earned runs to the underwhelming Royals before limiting a talented Giants lineup to just 3 earned runs over 6 solid innings. But both of those outings were at home.

So Freeland could be in store for more consistency on the road in Pittsburgh and Washington.

One-Start Pitcher Streamers

Martin Perez, TEX, 50% Rostered

Matchup: @OAK

Martin Perez's fantasy baseball ownership skyrocketed in Yahoo 29 percent following his shutout of the Astros. And he has a much, much better matchup against the A's. Perez probably won't give you another shutout despite the matchup, but he should be able to provide your team with a quality outing in Oakland.

Hunter Greene, CIN, 39% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CHC

Hunter Greene has been inconsistent since his promotion to the big leagues. He has enjoyed outings where he limited opposing offenses, but has also endured a couple of blow-up performances. However, the one constant has been the strikeouts.

Greene is a strikeout machine. His blazing fastball and impressive off-speed repertoire often leave hitters muttering to themselves after facing Greene. And he should continue to strikeout batters at a high rate against the Cubs.

Jameson Taillon, NYY, 54% Rostered

Matchup: @TB

Jameson Taillon just did sneak onto the list for a third consecutive article. I have been preaching about Taillon's ability over the past couple of weeks as a streamer. And not to pat myself on the back or anything, but the Yankees right-hander hasn't allowed more than 3 earned runs all season long.

And he has faced strong offenses including the Blue Jays on three separate occasions. Taillon should be able to keep pitching well against the Rays in Tampa Bay in Week 7.
