Why A Home Run Will Be Hit

The top three hitters in the American League lineup all have the top odds to hit a home run. Judge, Ohtani, and Devers all have a very good chance of hitting a home run. However, they will be facing Clayton Kershaw first, who will be pitching in his home ballpark. It might not be as easy as you think for these AL sluggers to send one deep.

Mookie Betts has the best odds for the NL and that makes sense. Considering he will be playing in his stadium as well, Betts will be comfortable out there. Betts started to really catch fire before he broke a rib a few weeks before the end of the first half of the season. Betts is healthy now and will be batting 2nd for the NL.

Also for the NL, Goldy, and Machado both drill left-handed pitchers. They both will be facing McClanahan for the very first time. Machado is batting third and Goldy fourth, so Goldy may not face McClanahan after all.

Vlad Guerrero Jr. and Stanton are two of the strongest hitters in the game. A home run would not be a surprise at all for these two and they have great odds to do so. At (+520), I would consider putting something down on both of these sluggers.

2022 MLB All-Star Game: To Record A Hit

Aaron Judge: -260

Shohei Ohtani: -250

Ronald Acuna Jr: -230

Mookie Betts: -230

Rafael Devers: -220

Manny Machado: -220

Paul Goldschmidt: -210

Vlad Guerrero Jr: -210

Trea Turner: -210

Giancarlo Stanton: -210

Jeff McNeil: -145

Why These Hitters Will Record A Hit

This is a bit of an easier array of picks. Recording a hit in an All-Star Game seems easy, however, with the elite pitching on display tonight, it will be interesting to see who records one.

With two lefties starting on each side, the right-handers may have a slight edge. Although, Ohtani and Devers have proven to get the job done against southpaws this season.

The odds aren't great as many if not all the starters will have a minus in front of them. But taking any of these picks and putting them in a parlay could seriously benefit you. Judge, Betts, Machado, Acuna Jr., Goldschmidt, and Turner will all be great options to pick today as they will all likely face a lefty in their first AB.

The starters in both lineups are starting for a reason as they have been stellar all year long. Left-handed hitter Jeff McNeil is my sleeper pick here at (-145). McNeil is batting .300 on the season and is one of the best pure hitters in the game right now. He will bat 9th for the NL and may face a right-hander when his turn is up.

Why These Hitters Will Hit The First Home Run

Judge and Ohtani have the best two odds and that is an obvious decision. Based on last season and this year, these two have been the top two hitters in all of baseball. Watching these two smash home runs is good for baseball as Judge currently leads the league with 33. Putting money down for them to hit the first home run of the game is a smart bet.

Betting on anyone outside of the starting lineup may be risky, but taking anyone above is favorable. Any one of them can hit one out at any given time, but the thing to remember is matchups. Facing a lefty is much easier for the right-handed batter, so that has to be taken into account as both starters are southpaws.

Manny Machado at (+1800) is a sleeper here. He bats 3rd for the NL and smashes lefties. He will certainly be hearing the boos from many of the Dodgers fans in attendance. Can that propel him into smashing a first-inning home run?

2022 MLB All-Star Game: Player Strikeouts

Clayton Kershaw:

Over 0.5 (-182)

Under 0.5 (+140)

Why Kershaw Will Strikeout At Least One Hitter

This should be an easy pick. Kershaw is starting in his home ballpark and will be facing two lefties out of the first three hitters he faces. Taking the over here is the right call, however, the odds aren't great. Adding that to a parlay could be a good boost for you. Expect Kershaw to get a lot of applause when he takes the mound at home to kick off the game.

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game will certainly be one for the books!
