The Milwaukee Bucks have made their selection in the 2022 NBA draft, going with MarJon Beauchamp with the 24th overall pick. A relatively older prospect at nearly 22 years of age, Beauchamp had his bumps before eventually landing with the G League Ignite team and showing off his potential as an impact player in the NBA.

MarJon Beauchamp tallied averages of 15.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 12 contests. His real impact area and his most alluring trait as an NBA draft prospect is on the defensive end, averaging 1.6 steals and roughly a block per contest. His prototypical size at the wing spot coupled with his top-shelf athleticism project him to become a potentially elite perimeter defender at the next level.

Beauchamp plays with a high motor and excels at crashing the glass, making him the kind of player that can inject energy into a lineup beyond just finding ways to score.

Where he needs to improve is his outside shot, making just 10 of his 33 attempts from distance for a 30.3 percent clip at the G League level. For him to become an elite 3-and-D player, that number needs to go up. But he still manages to get his points attacking the basket and can finish strong thanks to his frame and leaping ability.

At this point in the 2022 NBA draft, it isn't a bad idea for the Bucks to roll the dice on a a prospect like MarJon Beauchamp. The G League Ignite prospect will be able to develop in a championship-winning franchise alongside guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday.
