Kansas Jayhawks star Ochai Agbaji saw his childhood dream come true on Thursday night as he was selected 14th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Agbaji was arguably KU's best player last season en route to winning a National Championship. The 6'5″ wing, who has a 6'10” wingspan, played for years in Lawrence and is entering the Association as a very polished prospect.

The 22-year-old had a massive senior campaign for the Jayhawks, averaging 18.8 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting over 40% from three-point range. He's a classic 3 and D type player who should have no problem fitting in with the Cavaliers. Agbaji was one of the top prospects in this NBA Draft class and scored 12 points in the NCAA Tournament Final against UNC and was even named the Most Outstanding Player of the Big Dance. His best showing came in the Final Four when he dropped 21 on Villanova.

Aside from his impressive shooting, Agbaji is also a respectable defender and possesses the strength and physicality to get inside and score. Since he did play a full college career, Agbaji will surely see decent minutes in his rookie year.

Congratulations to Ochai Agbaji on the NBA Draft. The Cavs definitely got a solid player with this pick who should turn into a regular in the Association for years to come.
