Veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson was released by the Philadelphia Eagles thus ending his second stint with the team that only lasted for two seasons. He had another injury-riddled campaign in 2020 where he was only limited to appear in five games due to a lower-body injury that haunted him for most of the season.

Due to his limited action on the field, Jackson only managed to record 236 receiving yards on 14 receptions along with a touchdown scored. However, he can still emerge as a veteran presence and be a contributor to any team once he gets to manage the injuries that slowed him down in recent seasons.

Here are the three best destinations for the three-time Pro Bowler for the upcoming NFL season:

New York Jets

Florham Park may not be the best team to join if DeSean Jackson wants to vie for a Super Bowl ring in the upcoming season. However, the Jets do need some help in filling the gaps in their receiving room which lacks veteran presence as of late. The team's shallow rotation could be an encouraging sight for Jackson if he wants to see a significant amount of action during games and get back to being the player that he once was.

Gang Green primarily banked on the production of Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman, and Denzel Mims on the receiving department all throughout the 2020 season. The trio's contributions on the field were certainly not enough for the Jets as they only settled for a 2-14 record in the regular season.

All three receivers definitely showed flashes of their potential but the Jets will need an experienced leader who can show them the ropes and help them mature faster on the field. DeSean Jackson could come in and be the guy who will provide leadership in their locker room while also resurrecting his career on the field in the process of doing so.

New England Patriots

Head coach Bill Belichick's squad was nowhere near the juggernaut that they used to be in the past two decades, especially after Tom Brady's decision to leave town in the offseason. The Patriots' new gunslinger in Cam Newton then inherited a thin rotation in his first season with the team which certainly didn't help his individual cause as well.

Only wide receiver Jakobi Meyers proved to be a bright spot for the group after emerging as Newton's favorite target in most games throughout their campaign. Meanwhile, N'Keal Harry continued to disappoint in his second season in the league after numerous struggling performances on the field. Veteran receiver Julian Edelman also had to deal with a serious knee injury which only allowed him to appear in six games in the season.

Adding an experienced player like DeSean Jackson in the fold will definitely bode well for the quarterback who will play under center for the Patriots next season. Although he isn't a franchise-changing player, the 34-year-old is still capable of providing a lift for a team like the Patriots from time to time.

With a young receiving group around him, DeSean Jackson can use the opportunity to serve as a mentor and impact the younger players around him before he enters the twilight stage of his career.

Indianapolis Colts

DeSean Jackson's formed chemistry with the Colts' newly-acquired quarterback in Carson Wentz definitely makes Indianapolis an intriguing destination for him next season. Having a familiar face around Wentz will help make things easier for the quarterback as he aims to transition and navigate in unfamiliar territory after going through five seasons in Philadelphia.

Moreover, the Colts are also not known to have a deep receiving rotation. Due to their lack of weapons on the wings, former QB1 Philip Rivers often turned to tight end Zach Doyle for contributions in the scoring department. In addition, rookie wideout Michael Pittman Jr. has yet to come to his own and will definitely need to see more action in order to develop as a solid receiver in the league.

On that note, Jackson can come in and provide a boost to their receiving unit while also taking Pittman and their other young wideouts under his wing. Seeing how the Colts almost toppled the Buffalo Bills in last season's Wild Card Round, the team is definitely a piece or two away from making a better postseason run in the coming seasons, assuming that the Wentz experiment turned out to be successful.

All these teams can certainly help DeSean Jackson have a new lease in his career but his success ultimately hinges on his capability to remain healthy in the years to come.
