Marshawn Lynch is set to hit free agency this offseason and there are going to be a few teams that could use help at the running back position.

After a season that saw him play in just six games, Lynch still has some football left in the tank. He carried the football 90 times in those six games for 376 yards and three touchdowns.

As the rumors of Lynch and his “next move” continue to heat up, we take a look at three possible free agency destinations for the running back.

3. Oakland Raiders

As we've previously reported, there's a chance — however slight — that Marshawn Lynch will re-sign with the Oakland Raiders. Jon Gruden, however, says that he would be happy to have Lynch back in the lineup, because injuries aside, he's quite the formidable player, and one that would be a benefit to the team.

2. Green Bay Packers

What makes this team — which is being headed up by first-year coach Matt LaFleur — so attractive to a veteran player like Lynch is that, according to San Francisco's ABC affiliate, the team has enough cap space — around $35 million — to make a move on a high-priced free agent, and they could free up more if they cut a veteran or two.

While it's not clear which free agent the team would cut if they had to, the most likely bet would be Nick Perry. Is cutting Perry worth it, if it means getting Marshawn Lynch? That remains to be seen, but the signs certainly point to yes. And given that general manager Brian Gutekunst's tendency to pursue potential players with crazed aggression, it's entirely possible that he'll go after Marshawn Lynch with that same aggression until he lands him on the team.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

This one's a Steel City fan favorite, though one that's a bit of a long shot. But Lynch is a fan favorite because of his time with the Seattle Seahawks, in which he was a Super Bowl champion.

Over the course of his career, Lynch has accumulated 10,379 career rushing yards and 84 touchdowns. In 2018, he averaged 4.2 yards per carry. And all this to say that Lynch could serve as a mentor of sorts to younger players, especially players like James Conner and Jaylen Samuels. And, after the drama of Antonio Brown, someone like Marshawn Lynch could serve as a calming, drama-free factor.

It should be interesting to see where Lynch ends up.
