It'll be interesting to see where Marcus Mariota plays next season. His running ability makes him an intriguing option, especially for a franchise searching for a competent quarterback. His versatility cannot be ignored, but the injury troubles throughout Mariota's career are concerning. Even so, with the upcoming rookie draft class lacking star power, many teams will be aiming to sign a veteran quarterback.

Three teams stand out amongst the rest of the NFL to sign Marcus Mariota. We'll see who pulls the trigger, as Mariota has a chance to resurrect his career. He will be a hot commodity once the 2022 NFL free agency officially begins.

With that said, here are three Marcus Mariota free agency landing spots.

Marcus Mariota Free Agency Landing Spots

3. Washington Commanders

Head coach Ron Rivera has already been vocal about his team acquiring a veteran quarterback. Marcus Mariota would be a good fit for the Washington Commanders, as he'd be the best quarterback under center for this franchise in recent years. It'd be fun to watch Mariota playing for Washington, as his running ability could open up opportunities for Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson.

The Commanders might be interested in trading for a veteran quarterback, but the most realistic outcome is signing someone like Marcus Mariota in free agency. He'd probably win the starting job outright and serve as the main quarterback moving forward. This is a great landing spot for Mariota, as he could prove himself as a worthy quarterback for this franchise.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

After Ben Roethlisberger retired from the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers must try and find his replacement. This franchise hopes to find that person sooner, rather than later, making Marcus Mariota an intriguing option for Pittsburgh. Mariota would have the privilege to play under Mike Tomlin and would already have some solid weapons around him to generate an efficient offense.

Furthermore, signing Marcus Mariota puts a band-aid over the poor offensive line. Roethlisberger was immobile in the backfield and struggled with the pass rush all season. Mariota's mobility eases the pressure for the franchise to make drastic changes on the offensive line, as the veteran quarterback can scramble out of sticky situations. Look for this franchise to possibly sign the veteran quarterback during the 2022 NFL free agency.

1. Denver Broncos

Rumors are swirling the Denver Broncos are interested in trading for Aaron Rodgers. However, all signs are pointing towards Rodgers returning to the Green Bay Packers. If that's the case, Denver still needs to address the quarterback situation, making Marcus Mariota a solid option next season.

There's reason to believe that Marcus Mariota can play much better than Teddy Bridgewater. Additionally, he'd be competing for the starting job with Drew Lock and maybe even a rookie quarterback. Even so, Mariota has the tools to be a starter in the NFL and he could bounce back with this organization.

He'd have solid weapons at his disposal, a decent offensive line, and a competent defense on the other side of the ball. The Broncos should take a chance on Mariota if they fail to trade for a superstar-caliber quarterback.
