The Indianapolis Colts are fortunate in the fact that they do not have a lot of impending free agents that will make a huge detriment to the team if they are not brought back. Sure, there are some offensive linemen that Johnathan Taylor would like to have back after he led the NFL in rushing, but not one of the Colts' impending free agents are pro-bowlers or even well above average players. With that being said, we were still able to come up with three Colts free agents that Indianapolis should re-sign if they can. From the least important to the most, here are the three players that the Colts must re-sign in 2022 NFL free agency.

Three free agents that the Colts must re-sign

3. Mo Alie-Cox

Coming off of two consecutive seasons in which he has failed to surpass even 400 receiving yards, it is hard to justify having Alie-Cox on this list, but hear me out. In less playing time in 2021 than in 2020, Cox was able to double his touchdown total from two to four. Coming into the 2021 season, Alie-Cox had just four touchdowns, so he doubled up his career total in just one season with Colts quarterback Carson Wentz. He is a former basketball player than had to learn the game during his first contract. I say give Mo a little bit “mo” playing time, and see what he can do, especially if he is cheap and you are bringing back Wentz…the latter part being a big “if.”

2. Mark Glowinski

Here is where we start getting into the nitty-gritty on why the Colts were so good in 2021 and why they want to keep this offensive line together. Glowinski committed just two penalties in 2021 and also allowed just two sacks. After coming into the league as a Seattle Seahawks fourth-round pick and subsequently being cut two years later, Glowinski found a home in Indianapolis and has started most of his four seasons with the Colts although the 29-year-old did miss some time in the middle of the 2021 season due to injury.

1. Eric Fisher

Fisher very well might retire and force the Colts into dire straits at the left tackle position, but Indianapolis should be trying to get him to come back. Fisher suffered an Achilles injury in 2020 with the Kansas City Chiefs and that slowed his start to the 2021 season, but once he was there he was rock-solid. Fisher started 15 games and was graded as one of the best run-blocking left tackles in the NFL. Especially since the Colts do not have a first-round pick in 2022 due to the Wentz trade from a year ago, they have to get Fisher back to man Wentz'–or whoever the quarterback is'– blindside. A rookie second-round left tackle will most likely not be leading you to the playoffs in his first year and the Colts have to know that.
