Is Damian Lillard actually headed to Texas to join Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks next season? Well, if there's a front office that could pull off such a bold move, then it'll probably be Mark Cuban's.

The Portland Trail Blazers star has been going through a rough patch as of late with the team that drafted him as the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Lillard has been the cornerstone of the Blazers franchise for almost a decade now and the lack of success seems to have taken a toll on the 30-year-old superstar. Though he has been known as one of the most loyal stars in today's trade-ridden league, it seems as though the air in Portland is starting to change amid the recent coaching issues.

And, with the Mavs going through a major overhaul in terms of the front office this offseason, it seems as though the franchise is in a perfect position to put their name in the hat and try to swing for the fences to possibly form one of the most unstoppable frontcourt duos in the NBA today in Luka and Dame. It did help that Dame seemed to endorse the Mavs hiring long-time Nike executive Nico Harrison as the team's new GM.

So, what do Harrison and the rest of the Mavs' front office need to do to pull this franchise-changing move? Here are three of the best trades Dallas can make to bring in Damian Lillard.

3. Kristaps Porzingis (+ picks)

Obviously, the easiest asset to move would be the unicorn himself, Kristaps Porzingis. KP is coming off a disappointing playoff stint where he basically stood behind the 3-point line for seven games against the Los Angeles Clippers. In fairness to the Latvian, he did say that he was simply doing what he was asked to do which former head coach Rick Carlisle actually lauded him for. That being said, Porzingis still was at the receiving end of all the hate after a heartbreaking seven-game series against the Clippers.

It would absolutely make sense to move KP if you're getting someone like Lillard in return. Porzingis is just 25 years young and still has a whole career ahead of him. Yes, he basically vanished in the Mavs' last seven games but just looking at his regular season numbers, you know that All-Star still has huge potential.

If the Blazers do end up moving on Dame, it would give you a sense that the franchise will be headed towards a rebuild and having a young star in Porzingis would be a huge deal, especially if you add a few upcoming draft picks in the coming seasons.

2. Kristaps Porzingis + Jalen Brunson

If the Blazers do not like a one-for-one star deal involving Dame and KP (and the picks), the Mavs might have to be more realistic and add someone that can immediately help the potential hole in Portland's backcourt. And, a young budding playmaker like Jalen Brunson would be a clear target if you're the Blazers.

Aside from the aforementioned value, Portland is already getting by acquiring Porzingis, adding a spitfire point guard like Brunson will definitely speed up their rebuild. The two-time NCAA champion has shown a ton of improvement as part of the Mavs' young backcourt. Brunson is coming off his best season yet for Dallas, averaging 12.6 points per game alongside 3.5 assists in just 25 minutes of play. In Dallas, Brunson will forever be playing in the shadow of Doncic, so heading to Portland as a bona fide starting PG makes sense.

Brunson and Porzingis, alongside CJ McCollum, should form quite an impressive unit for the Blazers with Jusuf Nurkic and possibly Robert Covington completing the five. Though the two Mavs players won't bring in as much star power as Dame, this new five might bring in way more wins.

1. Kristaps Porzingis + Jalen Brunson + Maxi Kleber

The best possible deal involving these two teams would be a major rebuild in both team's starting units. If the Blazers aren't satisfied with Porzingis and Brunson in exchange for their prized superstar, they may also have to add one more star in the mix to try and sweeten up the deal. And, adding players similar players role players like Robert Covington and Maxi Kleber to the package definitely makes things interesting for both squads.

On paper, this deal makes sense, too. Porzingis, Brunson, and Kleber have a combined salary of around $40 million which matches Dame's and RoCo's. From Portland's perspective, it will be a major overhaul in terms of their starting line-up with the three new Dallas players. Brunson will be calling the shots with McCollum in the backcourt and Norman Powell might have to come in at the three spot with KP and Nurk forming a huge wall in the paint. Kleber can act as a sixth man and can offer huge upside from the bench with his defense and shooting ability.

For Dallas, obviously, the team gets an instant bump with Dame in the picture but adding a defensive anchor like Covington would be huge. The former All-Defensive First Team member can start at the four spot if new head coach Jason Kidd wants to field a small line-up with Tim Hardaway Jr. at the three and possibly Dwight Powell at the center position.

Now that sounds like a win-win trade for both teams.
