There was much speculation made where the top wide receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft were going to be selected in the first round. Surprisingly enough, the Dallas Cowboys were able to select CeeDee Lamb with the No. 17 pick of the first round.

While the Cowboys didn't need a wide receiver, Lamb provides them with an immediate boost in the passing attack. Upon his selection in the first round, Lamb is going to be given plenty of expectations in his rookie campaign.

Despite joining Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup at wide receiver, Lamb figures to have a prominent role in Dallas' offense. With that being said, here are three bold predictions for Lamb in his rookie season with the Cowboys.

65 Receptions

As previously mentioned, Lamb is going to be joining a Cowboys passing attack that already features Cooper and Gallup. Not to mention, Ezekiel Elliott also sees quite a few targets out of the backfield.

Therefore, Lamb is going to be sharing the field with talented players that could lessen his production next season. Although that may be true, there's a chance that Lamb still puts together a memorable rookie season.

Over the course of his three years at Oklahoma, Lamb's personal best in receptions was 65 back in 2018. Taking that into account, Lamb will record 65 receptions in his first season with the Cowboys.

10 Touchdowns

Despite seeing fewer targets due to the other receivers on the roster, Lamb should see plenty of opportunities to find the end zone. In his three collegiate seasons, Lamb proved that he's capable of scoring touchdowns with ease.

To finish his remarkable career at Oklahoma, Lamb was able to haul in an impressive 14 receiving touchdowns. Prior to predicting how many touchdowns Lamb will have in 2020, it's important to note that the rookie record for receiving touchdowns is 17. Of course, Randy Moss set the record in 1998 with the Minnesota Vikings.

While he likely won't record 17 touchdowns in his first season in Dallas, Lamb should have a chance to grab 10 touchdowns next season. Of the non-quarterbacks, Lamb should be a front-runner to win the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

1,200 Receiving Yards

Sometimes it takes longer for some wide receivers to get acclimated to the NFL than others. But with how talented Lamb is, there's not expected to be much of a transition period for the Oklahoma product.

Back in 1960, Bill Groman of the Houston Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans) recorded 1,473 receiving yards in his rookie season. Even to this day, there hasn't been a rookie wideout to surpass Groman's impressive rookie record.

There's no doubt that Lamb has the skill set that is capable of setting the rookie record, but with the other weapons in the Cowboys' offense, that'll be tough to achieve. Still, notching 1,200 receiving yards to begin his career in Dallas would prove that he was worthy of the No. 17 pick.
