The Detroit Lions didn't turn any heads in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, selecting Jeffrey Okudah with the No. 3 pick. However, in the second round of the draft, the Lions made a shocking decision to take the running back out of Georgia with the No. 35 pick, D'Andre Swift.

Throughout the pre-draft process, Swift was considered by many to be the No. 1 running back available in the 2020 NFL Draft. Swift was the latest running back at Georgia that proved that he be a phenomenal running back in the NFL.

Even though Kerryon Johnson is already in Detroit's backfield, Swift figures to see a prominent role in their offense next season. In light of that, here are three bold predictions for Swift in his rookie season with the Lions.

1,000 Rushing Yards

While at Georgia, Swift carried the majority of the workload in the backfield. In his final two seasons at Georgia, Swift carried the ball 359 times for 2,267 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Again, as he joins the Lions, Swift is going to share carries with Johnson in Detroit's rushing attack. Still, that shouldn't prevent him from leaving his mark with Detroit next season.

After putting together back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in college, Swift is going to keep the streak alive in his first season with the Lions.

8 Rushing Touchdowns

At Georgia, Swift was part of an offense that was predicated on running the ball and playing phenomenal defense. On the other hand, the Lions are a team that throws a ton with Matthew Stafford and is longing to improve on defense.

Even with Johnson taking touches from Swift, the rookie rusher should still find ways to get into the end zone. After all, the Lions didn't select Swift early in the second round for him not to be a key contributor in their offense.

Over the course of his final two seasons in college, Swift rushed for 17 touchdowns. In an attempt to take some pressure off of Stafford, Swift is going to score eight touchdowns on the ground in 2020.

50 Receptions

There's no denying the fact that the Lions love to throw the ball a ton with Stafford under center. Given that, whoever is playing running back needs to be capable of catching passes out of the backfield.

Despite playing in a run-oriented offense at Georgia, Swift flashed potential as a receiver in his final two seasons in college. Altogether, Swift hauled in 56 receptions in his final two seasons.

At Georgia, the most receptions Swift had in a single season was 32 of them in 2018. But in Detroit's offense, led by Stafford, Swift is going to corral 50 or more receptions in his rookie campaign.
