When the Carolina Panthers signed veteran quarterback Cam Newton and brought him home, the expectation was that he would end up being the starting quarterback in the near future. While he didn't start last week against the Arizona Cardinals, Newton made a major impact on the game. In his first game back with the Panthers, he ran and threw for a touchdown in a very limited role.

Looking ahead to the Panthers' Week 11 matchup with the Washington Football Team and former Panthers' head coach Ron Rivera, Newton looks prepared to get his first start in his second stint in Carolina.

Newton has had a whirlwind ride over the last few years. He went from being an MVP-caliber player with the Panthers to going through an ugly split with the franchise that drafted him. After a rough one-year tenure with the New England Patriots, he was released prior to the start of the 2021 NFL season, paving the way for rookie Mac Jones to be the team's new starter.

After sitting out all of the offseason up until Week 10, the Panthers made the move to sign Newton after Sam Darnold went down with an injury. Now, there are many who believe that this starting job could stay with Newton even when Darnold returns. Carolina seems all-in on giving things with Newton another shot.

How often does a player get a second opportunity to play in the place he once called home after an ugly split? This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that many never have the chance to accomplish. It's clear that Newton wants to make the most of the chance the Panthers have given him.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at three bold predictions for Newton's first start of the season this week against the Washington Football Team.

Bold Predictions For Cam Newton In Panthers vs. Washington Week 11

3. Cam Newton does not turn the football over once

Last season with the Patriots, Newton put up a rough overall passing stat line. He completed 65.8 percent of his pass attempts for 2,657 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions. While he didn't throw many interceptions, they still outweighed his touchdown passes.

In his first start back with the Panthers, Newton will take care of the football beautifully. Newton will not turn the football over a single time against a defense that is sure to come after him.

Newton has had his fair share of struggles with interceptions throughout his entire NFL career. Prior to the 2019 season that saw him play just two games for the Panthers, Newton had never thrown less than 10 interceptions in a single season. At least this week, Newton will not have a single struggle from a turnover perspective.

2. He racks up 325+ total yards and four touchdowns

Not only are we predicting that Newton will not turn the football over, but we are also predicting a big-time performance from him.

Newton has taken his return to Carolina seriously. He could not be more thankful for the opportunity and wants to lead the Panthers back to being legitimate playoff contenders. His play this week will help Carolina towards that goal.

As a dual-threat quarterback, which he was last season with the Patriots, Newton will carve up the Washington Football Team defense this week. No matter how hard Rivera and company try to slow him down, Newton will find ways to succeed.

Racking up at least 325 total yards and four touchdowns will put the Panthers in position for another big win. With that in mind, let's take a look at the last bold prediction for Newton this week.

1. The Panthers pick up another big win with Cam Newton leading the way

Finally, and most importantly, Newton will lead the Panthers to another big win. If Carolina truly wants to be a serious threat in the NFC, these are the games they need to take care of business in. While Washington is not a bad football team, they are not good either.

This is a chance for the Panthers to make a big statement. They can show that their blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals last week was no fluke. Carolina can send a message to the rest of the league that they are for real and Newton can silence all of his doubters.

Carolina will end up winning this game and should do so handily. With Newton putting up a huge performance, everything will officially come full circle for both the franchise and Newton. All of the success that he has with the Panthers throughout his career will continue this week against Washington.
