The Denver Broncos have a rather sturdy roster outside of the quarterback position. The defense is one of the best in the league, the offensive line is improved, as they have the skill position players to compete with the best. There is an important position battle going on for the starting quarterback job, but other than that, the Broncos seem ready for the season.

They play in a tough AFC West division dominated by the Kansas City Chiefs right now, but Denver isn't too far away from becoming a playoff-caliber team. They seem to still be in the running for Aaron Rodgers, but nothing has come to fruition as of yet.

The guys who get cut this year will be from positions that are already deep. Denver could be a surprise team this season as they have a solid starting lineup and great depth. There will be some obvious cuts throughout training camp, as the Broncos' main core is nearly a lock. With that said, here are three cut candidates on the Broncos roster bubble entering training camp.

Damarea Crockett

Not much is known about Damarea Crockett, but he's in a loaded backfield and is competing for a backup role. Melvin Gordon leads the way for now, but the Broncos' front office selected Javonte Williams in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Royce Freeman is still on the roster and might hold down the third spot on the depth chart.

That leaves Crockett competing with Michael Boone and LeVante Bellamy competing for a spot on the final roster. Crockett's best bet might be special teams, but he doesn't fit the build as a return man. Look for the Broncos to establish their backfield early on in training camp, as it seems set in stone already.

Essang Bassey

Essang Bassey finds himself in a stacked cornerback room, leaving him at the bottom of the depth chart on the current roster. Denver made sure to improve the secondary this offseason after selecting Patrick Surtain in the first round. Not to mention, Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby look to fill out the rest of the starting rotation in the cornerback room while Duke Dawson could earn some playing time too. That leaves Bassey as the odd man out and likely out of the door before the start of the season.

DaeSean Hamilton

Entering the fourth year of his NFL career, DaeSean Hamilton might be on the outside looking in. Denver has a solid group of receivers right now and it'll be tough for Hamilton to earn playing time. Courtland Sutton is due back after sustaining an injury a year ago. Meanwhile, Jerry Jeudy looks to become a solid second option in the passing game. Even KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick seem to have secured roles on the roster as well.

Hamilton will be competing for a roster spot with 10 other receivers. He hasn't done enough in his career to guarantee safety and the Broncos could look to replace him with a young player with potential. Keep an eye on the Broncos' wide receiver room, as someone could emerge from the depths a solid contributor. However, don't put your money on DaeSean Hamilton.
