The defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing for training camp. The roster is incredibly stacked, as the front office was able to retain all 22 starters. This team is primed for another Super Bowl run as potentially the best team in the NFL once again.

To make another Super Bowl appearance, Buccaneers will need their depth guys to step up again. The front office brought in some great young talent this offseason, giving the Buccaneers some youth mixed in with their veteran players. It'll be interesting to see how Buccaneers training camp plays out, as we could see some improvements in the backup roles.

Based on some of their draft selections, the Buccaneers are likely to make cuts to positions that are plentiful. There are numerous new faces on the defense, so we could see more cuts on that side of the ball than the offense. With that said, here are three cut candidates on the Buccaneers' roster bubble entering the 2021 training camp.

Ryan Griffin

This might be an easy choice for the Buccaneers, as the quarterback position has four guys on the current roster. Blaine Gabbert seems to hold the backup spot, but the front office selected Kyle Trask in the 2021 NFL Draft. This team is likely to keep Trask on the roster to learn behind Tom Brady and Gabbert, making Ryan Griffin the odd man out in Tampa Bay.

He was already the third quarterback on the depth chart this offseason, but the addition of Trask doesn't bode well for Griffin's chances. There is no reason to roster four quarterbacks, especially when one of them is Tom Brady. Trask aims to be Brady's eventual replacement, whenever the future Hall of Fame quarterback decides to retire.

Justin Watson

Tampa Bay has a ton of wide receivers on the roster, so we should see a few guys get cut from that position. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown lock down the starting roles, while Scott Miller, Tyler Johnson, and Jaelon Darden are the favorites to be the immediate backups.

For that reason, Justin Watson could be on his way out sooner rather than later, as he'll have to ball out in training camp to remain on the roster. With six receivers already pegged to make the final roster, Watson's chances have diminished.

Herb Miller

Cornerback is another position the Buccaneers have plenty of talent at, as the front office brought in a handful of new players for that position. The team currently has 12 cornerbacks on the roster, so we'll see a good amount of these guys cut by the end of training camp. Herb Miller likely receives the axe, as it's unlikely he gets much playing time at all in 2021.

There is always the possibility of earning a spot on special teams, but with so many players fighting for a final spot, it's hard to imagine Tampa Bay keeps Herb Miller on the team. Keep an eye on the Buccaneers' cornerback room, as it'll be a fierce competition this offseason.
