The Miami Dolphins were able to come away with another victory against the New York Giants in Week 13, 20-9. This is the fifth game in a row that the Dolphins have won as they are now 6-7 on the season.

This was yet another impressive win from Miami as they got contributions from everybody on the field. Their defense has really started to step up as of late and that has been the main reason why Miami has been able to turn their season around. It's going to be tough for Miami to make the playoffs, but they do have four games remaining and if they can win the next four and finish the season at 10-7 on the year, there is a good chance that they could sneak into the playoffs.

It's not going to be easy as they still have to take on the New Orleans Saints on a Monday night in New Orleans, the Tennessee Titans in Tennessee, and the New England Patriots in the final game of the season.

Let's take a look at three takeaways from the Dolphins-Giants Week 13 game.

Dolphins Week 13 Takeaways

3. Tua continues to impress

If anybody is still doubting this kid, they must be watching a different game. On Sunday he went 30-41 for 244 yards and two touchdowns for the Dolphins. He has been the main reason for their success in the past five games as he has looked like an above-average quarterback in the NFL recently.

If Tua Tagovailoa can continue playing as he has, the Dolphins future is as bright as any other team in the league. Factor in that he has a star wide receiver in rookie Jaylen Waddle, and the future between that duo is going to be one of the best for many years to come in the NFL.

2. The defense is back to being one of the best in football

All the Dolphins' defense has done in the past five weeks is show that they are once again one of the better defenses in all the football. In their past five wins, they have only allowed more than 10 points in one game.

It was reported by star cornerback Xavien Howard that the Dolphins were going to go back to their defense that they played a season ago and from the looks of things, it's working. The Dolphins have some elite players on the defensive side of the ball and that was shown on Sunday against the Giants.

They were able to come away with three sacks on the day as well as seven tackles for losses and also hit the quarterback eight times. Miami was also able to get an interception as their defense did everything for them to win the game.

1. The playoffs are right there

It's not going to be an easy task for the Dolphins, but if they do win from here on out, they do have a great chance of making the playoffs. If they take care of business, the Dolphins will find themselves in a great spot to make the playoffs and help get their young team some playoff experience for the future.

This was yet again another impressive win from the Dolphins as they are taking care of business and beating teams that are not better than them. They had a tough time doing that early in the season, but they have started to play football the way that they know they can as everything seems to be going right for Miami.
